Nels J. Isaacson

Nels J. Isaacson was inducted into the Army Air Corps April 28, 1942, Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Angora, Minnesota.

He served as a Corporal and telephone switchboard operator with the 736th Bombardment Squadron (Heavy) of the 454th Bomb Group (H) in Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, North Apennines, and Po Valley, Italy; Air Combat Balkans, Southern France, Northern France, and Central Europe.

Mr. Isaacson was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation with oak leaf cluster, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with one silver (for five bronze stars) and three bronze battle stars and World War II Victory Medal

He was honorably discharged September 12, 1945, Jefferson Barracks, Missouri.
