Nick Povelich

Nick Povelich was commissioned First Lieutenant on May 21, 1945, while serving as an infantry unit commander with the 86th Infantry Division, in the European Theater. Home at entry: Hibbing, Minnesota.

Mr. Povelich was awarded the following: Bronze Star Medal. Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, and the World War II Victory Medal.

 He was relieved from active duty on August 1, 1946, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
