Norman Abrahamson

Norman L. Abrahamson of Saginaw enlisted in the Army on Oct. 15, 1940, and entered active service on Feb. 10, 1941, with Battery C, 125th Field Artillery Battalion. He was a technician 5th grade and a heavy truck driver on the the Tunisian, Naples-Foggia and Rome-Arno campaigns. He received the Purple Heart for shell fragment wounds received near Givigna, Italy, on Sept. 16, 1944. He also received the Good Conduct Medal; European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with three battle stars; American Defense Service Medal; World War II Victory Medal and five overseas service bars. He was discharged on May 18, 1945.
