NEUHA, Oiva Keliva

Oiva Keliva Neuha was born on September 25th 1921 to Carl & Olga [Jarvinen] Neuha in the Philippines. The family settled in Idington, Minnesota.

Mr. Neuha enlisted into the U.S. Army Air Corps on August 14th 1942 during WWII at Minneapolis, Minnesota.

He served as an Aviation Cadet with the 98th TC Squad of the 44th ATC Group, C T C Group A. He was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant on December 4th 1943 at Pampa Field, Texas. He was decorated with the Air Medal and 1 oak Leaf cluster for his service. He rose to the rank of 1st Lieutenant.

LT Neuha was honorably discharged on January 24th 1946, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin. After the war he returned home and married Marjorie Anna and they started a family.

Mr. Neuha died on May 18th 1967 at the age of 45 years. He is buried at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing, Minnesota.
