LOFTEN, Oris Arnold

Oris Arnold Loften was born on June 22nd 1924 to John Melvin & Inga Catherina [Hilde] Loften in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. The family moved to Duluth.

Mr. Loften enlisted in the Army Air Corps on December 14th 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Duluth, Minnesota. He married Helen Marie [McNelis].

He served as a special equipment operator with the 1153rd Army Air Forces Base Unit in South America. He rose to the rank of Corporal (CPL)

Mr. Loften was awarded the:Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal and one overseas service bar.

He was honorably discharged December 8th 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.

Mr. Loften died on September 8th 1948 at 25 years of age. He is buried at Park Hill Cemetery in Duluth.
