Oscar Elnes was born on March 7th 1903 in Honefoss, Norway.

Oscar Elnes of Eveleth, Minnesota was inducted into the U.S. Army on September 23rd 1942 at Fort Snelling in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

He served as a laboratory technician during WWII. He rose to the rank of Private First Class (PFC).

He was honorably discharged on October 13th 1944, at Omaha, Nebraska.
