Paul H. Jarvi

Paul H. Jarvi of Kelsey, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on May 23, 1945.

He served as a Private with the Transportation Corps in the continental U.S. and aboard the hospital ship Comfort transporting nurses and patients to and from hospitals, and also worked in the shore dispensary.

In his own words, "I went on a 3 month trip on hospital ship Comfort . We left San Francisco and landed at Honolulu, then departed for Guam. From Guam we sailed to Manila and were there for 2 weeks. Then we went to Okinawa and on to Kobe, Japan. From there we sailed to Yokohama and then home to San Francisco."

He was discharged on November 30, 1946 at Camp Stoneman, Calif.
