Paul S. Anderson

Mr. Anderson inducted into the Army in January 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Iron, Minnesota.

He attended Officer Candidate School at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and flight school at Denton, Texas and Fort Sill.

He served as a pilot and an artillery observer with the 60 First Field Artillery Battalion (Pack) "with mules."  Among his fellow soldiers were a future senator from Kansas named Robert Dole, and the future governor of Massachusetts, Frank Sargent.

He also served in Italy, France, Germany and Austria from February 1944.

Separated with the rank of Captain in November 1945.
