Peter B. Mattila

Mr. Peter Mattila Mr. Mattila was inducted into the Army Air Corps on October 10, 1941, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Hibbing, Minnesota.

He served as a Staff Sergeant and administrative NCO with the 423rd Bombardment Squadron of the 306th Bombardment Group in the European Theater.

Mr. Mattila was awarded the following: Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Meda, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal and one overseas service bar.

He was honorably discharged February 1, 1946, at Camp McCoy, Wis.
