Raymond Kainula

Mr. Raymond Kainula Mr. Kainula entered the Army on June 6, 1943 at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home entry: Gilbert, Minnesota.

He served as a Private First Class and medical aid man with the Medical Detachment of the 109th Infantry Regiment in Northern France, Rhineland, and Ardennes. He was wounded in action on January 29, 1945, in the European Theater Operations.

Mr. Kainula was awarded: Purple Heart, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with three bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, and one overseas service bar.

He was honorably discharged on October 9, 1945 at McCaw General Hospital at Walla Walla, Washington.
