Raynold Carlson of Hibbing, Minnesota was inducted into the Army in April 1942.

He was a private first class and a heavy weapons (mortar) operator with the 143rd Infantry Regiment., 36th Division, serving in Naples-Foggia, Italy, and in Central Europe.

He received the:

Combat Infantryman Badge,
Good Conduct Medal
European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal.

He was discharged on Oct. 9, 1945.
