Robert B. Olson

Robert B. Olson entered the Army on April 29, 1941, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Tower, Minnesota.

He served as a Sergeant with the 164th Infantry, 59th Training Group, and 591st Engineer Boat Co. in Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, and Guadalcanal Campaigns.

He was awarded with the following: Three Bronze Star Medals for Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, and Guadalcanal, Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Unit Citation, fiver overseas service bars.

Mr. Olson was honorably discharged on April 19, 1945, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota, due to his father's illness.
