Robert C. Cowling was inducted into the Army Air Corps on Sept. 4, 1942.

He served at the rank of private first class doing glider maintenance for the15th Troop Carrier Squadron, 61st Troop Carrier Group in North Africa, England, and Brazil.

He was separated from the service on Oct. 10, 1945.
