Mr. Anderson inducted into the Army on August 26, 1943, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Virginia, Minnesota.

He served as a Private First Class and mortar crewman with Company A, 362nd Infantry Regiment in Rome-Arno, Northern Apennines and Po Valley

He received the following: Purple Heart for wounds received in 1944, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal and two overseas service bars.

He was honorably discharged on November 12, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
