DOSTAL, Robert Harold

Robert Harold Dostal was born on June 10th 1923 to Henry Edwin & Clarissa Mabel [Hornseth] in Thief River Falls, Minnesota.

Mr. Dostal entered the Army May 25th 1943.

He served with Company F of the 126th Infantry Regt. of the 32nd Infantry Division. He rose to the rank of Private First Class (PFC).

PFC Dostal was killed in action on April 18th 1945, at Northern Luzon, Philippines.He was killed in action (KIA) by a sniper's bullet April 18th 1945, while attacking an enemy machine gun position on Mt. Imugan,

He was awarded the following:

  • Asiatic-Pacific theatre ribbon with five battle stars,
  • a bronze arrowhead, -and-
  • the Presidential Citation.
