Robert K. Prescott

Robert K. Prescott was inducted into the Army on April 21, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Duluth, Minnesota.

After serving as a Corporal he attended and graduated from Officer Candidate School in 1943 and was commissioned Second Lieutenant.

Mr. Prescott served as an instructor with the Field Artillery School at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, in 1943; then as a First Lieutenant, assistant S-2 (Intelligence), and reconnaissance and survey officer with the 868th Field Artillery Battalion of the 65th Infantry Division.

He landed in LeHavre, France, in December 1944. He participated in campaigns in Northern France, Rhine River crossing, and Germany with the Third Army (Patton) ending at Linz, Austria.

Mr. Prescott was awarded the following: Bronze Star Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars,and the World War II Victory Medal,

 He was relieved from active duty as Captain, on May 26, 1946, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
