TESTER, Rodney Lee

Rodney Lee Tester was born on January 5th 1918 to Earl Lee & Mildred E. [Peterson] Tester in Proctor, Minnesota.

Mr. Tester entered the Army Air Force in April 1942 and served in WWII. He was assigned to 77th Bomb Squadron, 23rd Air Base Group at Elmendorf Field in Alaska and served as a Private.

Private Tester was killed on April 29th 1942 when the B-18A Bolo #37-522, which was overloaded, crashed into the mountains on the climb-out phase on Kodiak Island, Alaska. Seven crew were killed and just one survived.

PVT Tester's body was returned home to Duluth and was buried at Oneota Cemetery.
