Simon "Sammy" A. Kupper served in World War II and in the Korean War.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 until he was discharged in 1949.

After the war he joined the Navy Reserve. His unit was activated in 1951 to serve in the Korean War. He was discharged in 1953.

He was born on May 11, 1927, in Flensburg, Minnesota, to Frank K. and Elizabeth M. (Rutz) Kupper.

Mr. Kupper died at age 81 on October 18, 2008, in Fairmont, Minnesota.
