Sirkka Holm (nee Tuomi)

Sirkka  Holm (nee Tuomi) enrolled in the Women's Army Corp (WACS) and was stationed in London as a Staff Sergeant where she helped keep track of the supplies going out to the troops. Later she was stationed in Normandy and then Paris.

One Paris winter, she and her company were lost in enemy territory. They were 16 miles from St. Lo where many soldiers, including a general, died from "friendly fire" and Sirkka nearly died herself from pneumonia and pleurisy.
