Swen E. Maki of Iron, Minn. was inducted into the Army on March 19, 1944.

He was a Private First Class and rifleman with Company B, 127th Infantry Regiment, 32nd Infantry Division in the Philippines. He was wounded in action in February 1945 on Luzon.

Mr. Maki was awarded the: Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, Philippine Liberation Medal with two bronze stars.

He received a disability discharge on Sept. 26, 1945 at Camp Custer, Mich.
