Toivo W. Pajunen of Kinney was inducted into the Army on May 27, 1943. He was a private first class and a truck driver with the 96th Chemical Mortar Battalion in Central Europe. He received the Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with a bronze battle star, American Campaign Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal and two overseas service bars. He was discharged on April 13, 1946.
