Tony J. O''Korn of Eveleth was inducted into the Army in February 1942. He was a private first class with Headquarters Company, 25th Infantry Division in New Guinea and the southern Philippines. He received the Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Service Medal with two bronze battle stars, Philippine Liberation Medal with two bronze stars, World War II Victory Medal and six overseas service bars. He was discharged on Nov. 28, 1945.
