Uuno J. Alto of Cook was inducted into the Army on Nov. 18, 1942. He was a technician 5th grade and a truck driver with Headquarters Company, Army Garrison Force, in the Pacific Theater.He received the Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Service Medal, American Campaign Service Medal and World War II Victory Medal. He was discharged on Feb. 15, 1946.
