Mr. Alto inducted into the Army on November 18, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Cook, Minnesota.

He served as a Technician Fifth Grade and a truck driver in the Headquarters and Headquarters Company of the Army Garrison Force in the Pacific Theater.

He received the following: Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, American Campaign Medal, and World War II Victory Medal. 

Mr. Alto was honorably discharged on February 15, 1946, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
