Mr. Anderson entered the Navy 1945.

He served on convoy and mine sweeping duty aboard the destroyer USS Wilson (DD 874) in the Mediterranean Theater. Separated in 1948.

Victor R. Anderson served in World War II in the European Theater.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Anderson joined the Navy on October 3, 1945, shortly after graduating from high school.  He was assigned to serve on the destroyer USS Wilson (DD 874).  Mr. Anderson was tasked with convoy duty and mine sweeping in the North Atlantic, and he also served in the Mediterranean.

He was discharged on November 4, 1948.  Mr. Anderson’s rank was Fireman Second Class.  Mr. Anderson was born in Hibbing, Minnesota, to Victor and Alice Anderson in 1927.
