Vincent A. Vesel

Vincent A. Vesel entered the Army on November 14, 1943.

Mr. Vesel served as a Sergeant with the 329th Infantry Regiment of the 83rd Infantry Division in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe.

He recalls, "The Battle of the Bulge broke loose and we had to pull back to avoid capture. Crossed the Rhine River and made a dash across Germany to the Elbe River. Held this position until the Russians came through from Berlin. In a few days the war was over."

Mr. Vesel was discharged on January 7, 1946.
