SULLIVAN, Walter Jerome

Walter Jerome Sullivan was born on September 5th 1916 in Ironwood, Michigan to William Walter and Mary Veronica (Mrofchak) Sullivan. The famiy moved to Hibbing, Minnesota by 1920.

He was inducted into the Army on April 29th 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Hibbing, Minnesota.

He served as a Private First Class with the 138th Army Air Forces Base Unit in the continental U.S.

Mr. Sullivan was awarded the following:

  • American Campaign Medal - and -
  • World War II Victory Medal.

 

He was honorably discharged on November 20th 1945, at Sioux Falls AFB, South Dakota.

My Sullivan died on July 28th 1976 in Hibbing, Minnesota at the age of 59. He is buried in Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
