Wayne W. Miettunen of Tower was inducted into the Army on May 2, 1942.

He was a Technician 5th Grade and a heavy truck driver with Company B in the 112th Engineer Construction Battalion in Rhineland and Central Europe.

Mr. Miettunen received the: Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal, American Campaign Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal and two overseas service bars.

He was discharged on December 31, 1945.
