Wilbert A. Anderson of Hibbing was inducted into the Army on April 28, 1942. He was a private first class and a bridge builder with Troop B, 8th Engineers Squadron, in the Philippines, New Guinea and the Bismarck Archipelago. He received the Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Service Arrowhead, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Service Medal, American Campaign Service Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal with bronze star and four overseas service bars. He was discharged on Nov. 5, 1945.
