Wilbert A. Kulmala (Viburg)

Wilbert A. Kulmala (Viberg) was inducted into the Army on November 15, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota.

He served as a Private First Class and light machine gunner with Company I of the 413th Infantry Regiment in Northern France and Rhineland. He was wounded in action  in Germany on November 11, 1944.

Mr. Kulmala was awarded the: Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars and  World War II Victory Medal.

He received a disability discharge on September 7, 1945, at Percy Jones Hospital Center, Fort Custer, Michigan.
