SWENSON, William Arthur

William Arthur Swenson was born on November 30th 1922 to John Frederick & Anna [Prochazka] Swenson in Lake Nebagamon, Wisconsin. The family later moved to Payne, Minnesota near Meadowwlands.

Mr. Swenson enlisted in the Army on April 18th 1943 in Proctor, Minnesota. He served in the Army Air Corps with Company 'A', 105th Infantry, 27th Infantry Division. He rose to the rank of Private First Class (PFC).

PFC Swenson died on April 29th 1945 at the age of 22 of wounds inflicted during the Battle of Okinawa during WWII.

He was buried at Sunrise Memorial Cemetery in Hermantown, Minnesota.
